OKLAHOMA CITY -

The statewide manhunt is over for a man accused of going on a violent crime spree.

Michael Vance was accused of killing two people and shooting at least five others including two Wellston police officers.

Vance was killed Sunday night after a shootout with troopers in western Oklahoma.

The OSBI said while it’s working with other law enforcement departments regarding Michael Vance, the OSBI is conducting other investigations on its own.

OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said the OSBI became involved the minute Vance shot two Wellston police officers on Oct. 23.

“Even though our suspect is deceased, we still have to continue in the investigation, to make sure we don’t forget someone out there who helped him, and that they are held accountable,” she said.
