An Oklahoma County deputy was arrested and fired over the weekend after being accused of rape.

Police confirmed Euitt Sharp, 30, of Oklahoma City, was arrested on Saturday evening, and the sheriff's office confirmed he was fired the same day.

According to court papers, the victim came to Oklahoma City police headquarters on Saturday morning to report the rape. Several hours later, the deputy was being booked into the Oklahoma County jail, after he confessed to the crime.

According to the police report, the rape happened on Thursday night at the Quail Ridge Apartments near May Avenue and Memorial Road.

Oklahoma City police arrested Sharp at Quail Springs Mall while he was working at the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office substation.

"At this point in time, it's very early in the investigation, but we did have sufficient information to go ahead and make an arrest," said Capt. Paco Balderrama with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Court papers filed Monday morning state the victim told police she had known Sharp for more than a year and that though they had been intimate before, they recently agreed to just be friends.

But she states on Thursday night, he came over to talk and then forced himself on her, even though she told him no and tried to get him off of her.

She told officers he told her, "What are you going to do? Call County?" and then left.

Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel said he was surprised by the allegation and is extremely disappointed.

"We placed a lot of faith and trust in him when we sent him to the academy and when he pinned the badge on," said Whetsel. "And he let not only me down but he let every member of this agency down and every member of law enforcement."

The sheriff's office confirmed Sharp was hired as a detention officer at the jail back in 2014 and became a deputy within four months of joining the agency.

The sheriff said Sharp was a school resource officer at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School in Edmond but said the arrest had nothing to do with his role there. Whetsel said what Sharp admitted to doing was a violation of trust and that is why he was immediately fired.

"An act of violence against anyone is not acceptable, and in this case, an act which is known as rape, we won't tolerate it," said Whetsel.

Sharp is currently out of jail on a $25,000 bond.
