Crews have extinguished a house fire on the northeast side of the metro.
Firefighters were called out to the scene of the fire in the 1400 block of NE 16th St., a little more than a mile southeast of the Oklahoma Capitol building.
Once on scene crews determined the fire started in a front bedroom of the home. A woman and a small child were inside at the time and made it out safely. Authorities say a male neighbor was try to fight the fire through a window when firefighters arrived.
Crews were able to quickly get a handle on the blaze and contained the damage to the bedroom. A preliminary damage estimate has not yet been made. No one was injured.
