A year ago, the Oral Roberts women’s basketball team finished two games under 500 and bowed out in the conference semifinals.

They had five players average over 25 minutes per game, but this season, with a deeper team and more experience, they'll have a different look. They're going to run.

"She doesn't expect anyone to play more than three and a half, four minutes at a time because we're going to be doing that much running,” said guard Kaylan Mayberry. “We have the bodies to be able to go out there and really work hard and get somebody else in."

"We've got the depth,” stated Head Coach Misti Cussen. “I feel like we've got the offensive firepower that we've been missing the last one or two seasons from the perimeter as well."

Meanwhile, on the men's side, gone is Obi Emegeno and his 23 points a game. But Scott Sutton and his staff have an idea on how to fill that void, and it starts under the basket.

"We still want to run, but at the same time, if we don't have a great opportunity early in transition, we want to make sure we work the ball around and give our bigs a chance to do some damage down low," explained Sutton.

"Now, I'm just ready to show the Summit League why they should have me on their radar," said center Albert Owens.
