Highway 3 Down To One Lane Near Piedmont

Posted: Updated:

A multi-car wreck shut down Highway 3 at Banner Rd. about six miles west of Piedmont.

Police say three vehicles were involved in the crash in which fog visibility likely played an issue. A pickup truck was crossing Highway 3 and got rear-ended by a car, which spun the truck into the ditch. The car spun into the westbound lane where it was hit by a semi. The car is totaled.

EMSA responded to the non-emergency scene. Only the pickup driver suffered injuries, which are minor.

As of 5:30 a.m., Highway 3 is open but there is a delay.
