My 2 Cents: Good Notes Edition

We've been awash with ugly political accusations, disturbing and frankly frightening crime news, thought it would be nice to share a couple of examples of the good side of human nature.

One we shared on the 4 p.m. news, the coach of the softball team in the small town of Waukomis, up by Enid, learned that due to budget cuts a metro high school couldn't take their band or cheer squad to away games.

He told his girls, they made goody bags and encouraging notes for the U.S. Grant players and drove an hour and a half to Oklahoma City to cheer them on in their game against Mt. Saint Mary's.

That's good stuff!

And second, a young coach who gets it.

His name is Luke Orvis, a former assistant at Edmond Memorial now the first-year head football coach at Arvada High School outside of Denver.

On Senior Night, he had his senior players honor a teacher that helped them during their high school career, by presenting them with their road jersey to wear at school that day and at the game that night!

Look at the pride on those teachers faces! Great job Coach Orvis!

Wonderful tribute, it'd be nice to see some schools here duplicate that idea!

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
