An Enid man said he went out for a couple of drinks at an Oklahoma City bar and it almost cost him his life. Someone apparently slipped drugs into his drink.

Nathan Meeks doesn't remember much about Saturday night. He remembers coming going to Graham's country nightclub, 3700 W Reno Ave.

Next thing he remembers, he was in the hospital.

His friends said Meeks had no more than three drinks, but one had apparently been spiked with what doctors believe to be bath salts and other drugs. It all started when Meeks started acting strange so the group left the bar.

"You know his breathing was you know slow and couldn't catch his breath,” said Meeks’ fiancée Michelle Sternberg. “He was trying to say things and he couldn't say them. He was throwing up in the back of the car. He threw up once before we got him out of the vehicle."

Meek’s friend, Valerie Franek, was driving.

“I actually had to pull over because he was making funny noises in the backseat and … so I pulled over and he like basically fell out like on the gravel I was trying to hold him up" Franek said.

"We asked him you know did you take something? Did somebody give you something? And he said some guy gave him a shot at it tasted like eggs," Sternberg said.

Moments later, Meeks wasn't breathing and had no pulse. His friends performed CPR until the ambulance arrived.

Doctors told him someone slipped drugs into his drink.

"I don't even remember the drink that taste like egg or whatever. I just can't recall anything and I'm still trying to piece together what all happened," Meeks said.

He's just glad he survived.

“It's been a long time since I've cried, but the fact that you know she was telling me in tears like you know that was the most helpless feeling to see someone doing CPR on me," he said.

Oklahoma City police are looking into it. Meanwhile, experts say never accept a drink from anyone in a bar without watching the bartender make it and never set your drink down even for just a few moments.

"It's attempted murder to me. I don't know why I don't have words for someone that low," Meeks said.
