The Waukomis High School softball team pays it forward, showing support to U.S. Grant High School's football team.
The Waukomis coach found out that due to budget cuts, U.S. Grant does not take a pep club or band bus to away games. It's also hard for some of the football parents to make it to the games, so she got her team to make goody bags and encouraging notes for the players, and then they traveled to Oklahoma City on Friday night to cheer for the team on as they played at Mt. Saint Mary's.
Waukomis is a small class B, 8-man football school south of Enid. They wanted to show a big city school how much compassion a small town can have, especially for a good group of boys.
