The Department of Public Safety has an important remind for drivers to move over and slow down.

If you're on the road and see emergency personnel or a construction crew, be mindful and remember  they have families they want to get home to.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety and ODOT are holding a press conference today at 2:00 at DPS in light of personnel having experienced several crashes and near misses during the past year.

Earlier this year, a trooper sustained serious injuries after his patrol car was hit on I-40 in Shawnee. Then in August, an Oklahoma utility worker was killed after being hit by a 17-year-old driver.

Oklahoma has had a Move Over Law since 2002. That law requires motorists to change lanes if a law enforcement vehicle is coming up behind them with its lights flashing.
