Homeless Man Accused Of Fondling Himself In Front Of Children In SW OKC

Posted: Updated:

A homeless Oklahoma City man was arrested after allegedly exposing himself to children at a gas station on the southwest side of the metro.

It happened at a 7-Eleven gas station near SE 44th St. and S. Shields Blvd., Tuesday night.

Witnesses told police the suspect, 54-year-old Darryl Gene Scoggin, walked up to a vehicle at the gas station and asked a child seated in the backseat of the car, “How much?”

A clerk at the store asked Scoggin to leave the property and went inside to call 911. That is when, according to police, Scoggin exposed his genitals and began to masturbate in front of the car. At least two children were in the vehicle at the time.

When police arrived they met Scoggin walking southbound on Shields. Responding officers say Scoggin smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. He was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of Indecent Exposure, one count of Lewd Acts to a Child, one count of Public Indecency and one count of Public Drunkenness.

This isn’t the first run-in Scoggin has had with police involving sexually explicit crimes. In December 2015, he was arrested for Trespassing and Bestiality.
