A major gay rights group is giving Oklahoma an "F" grade when it comes to LGBT protections.

The Human Rights Campaign just released its Municipal Quality Index, which looks at nondiscrimination laws, and benefits offered by employers among other things.

The index graded eight of Oklahoma's biggest cities and all of them got a score of below 50.

The highest-scoring cities in our state are Tulsa with 46 and Norman with 42. By comparison, big cities including Dallas got a score of 100.

The cities were graded based on nondiscrimination laws, benefits and protections offered by employer, municipal services, law enforcement (reporting hate crimes) and overall relationship with LGBTQ community.
