Metro Mother Accused Of Abusing Her Two Children

An Oklahoma City mother stands accused of beating, starving and locking up her kids in a hot room.

Oklahoma City police began investigating back in August of this year.

The mother is identified as Amy Noel Kovach, 28, of Oklahoma City and today the Oklahoma County District Attorney's office charged her with one felony count of child abuse.

Police became aware of the abuse after the Children's grandmother brought them to OU children's hospital. Court documents state that both the 7-year-old and 8-year-old who were brought in had cuts and bruises and that the doctor confirmed the injuries were from abuse.

Court papers state when police questioned Kovach, she admitted to spanking and using a belt on the children. She even admitted the metal buckle struck one of the kids in the head. When questioned, the children told investigators they would get spankings several times a day, that they were made to go to bed hungry and often only got one meal at breakfast.

Court papers state the children also said they would be locked upstairs in "a really hot room" and that they were not always allowed to go to the bathroom.
