Oklahoma City Salvation Army Providing New Undergarments for Children in School

The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Social Services will provide new undergarments for children, grades K-12, beginning Monday, October 17, 2016 at 9 a.m. at 1001 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, OK 73107.

In the classroom, certain school supplies are required to help the child succeed. Many organizations, churches and nonprofits assist families with these items. While these tools are important to the child’s success, more personal items children need are often overlooked. 

The Salvation Army saw a need and they’re helping children be confident at school by providing families with brand new undergarments. Each child will receive three to four new pairs of socks and underwear.

To receive new undergarments for your child, please visit The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma’s office at 1001 N. Pennsylvania during the noted times and bring the required documents, listed below.

Program Times (beginning Monday, October 17, 2016):

• Mondays: 9 a.m. — 12 p.m.  

• Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9 a.m. — 12 p.m. and 1 — 3 p.m.

Program Dates: October 17, 18, 24, 25, 27 and 31

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Birth Certificates: for all children in the home for grades K-12 or DHS Benefits Statement (must include name, birth date & SS# for ALL household members)

• Verification of children’s school enrollment: such as class schedule or enrollment packet

• Proof of household income: pay stub, award letter, unemployment verification or if no income, bring DHS Benefits Statement (must include name, birth date & SS# for ALL household members)

• Picture ID: Passport, Government/Military ID, State issued ID/Driver’s License or ID from country of origin for ALL adult household members)

• Proof of residency: current gas, electric, propane, water (must be dated within the past 30 days) or original lease agreement, deed, or mortgage statement for the residence

*If you are not the leaseholder of your residence, please provide a notarized statement from the individual providing shelter indicating dates of stay and address
