If you are still in the market for a Halloween costume, one metro woman can help you find the perfect ‘fit.
Dayna Brown has made her career as a professional costume designer. She is currently OKC Ballet’s costume director, but now anyone can use her services in her own home studio. Brown created her own costume consulting company, Costumed, this fall.
Brown's collection of costumes continues to grow from past projects and a passion for rummaging. “I have a real problem going to too many estate sales,” she said.
She said it is the small details that set an outfit apart, which she finds in vintage pieces, wigs and jewelry.
“My favorite thing is to think of a color that you really want to emphasize or a period of time or a mood,” Brown explained.
Plus, buying a costume in a store can be both challenging and discouraging for some.
“A lot of times it’s hard to find things that fit and it’s just small, medium, large,” said Brown, “so I can fit it to you as precisely as you like.”
Brown rents out her wardrobe, but she can also design something new for a client to fit their needs. She even has options for those who dare to dress as a scary clown this year, who she believes are mostly meddlesome kids.
Whether it is for a costume party or a night full of trick-or-treating planned, Brown can guide you from conception to completion.
“Even the night of the event I can come to you, dress you, do hair and makeup and get you all ready to go,” she said.
Brown’s services are available all year long. To contact her, click here.
