Beat Texas Tailgate Sandwiches

Beat Texas Tailgate Sandwiches

  • 1 package thin sliced ribeye steak (found in the freezer section)
  • 1 package King Hawaiian dinner rolls
  • 12 sliced provolone cheese
  • 1 green pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 onion, cut into thin slices
  • 1 red/yellow pepper, cut into strips
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon seasoning salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  1. In a large saute pan heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil at medium heat and cook the peppers, onion and mushrooms till they are golden brown.
  2. While the veggies are cooking, cut the ribeye into thin strips and saute in a separate pan with seasoning salt till lightly browned.
  3. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise and place the bottom 1/2 of the rolls in a 9x13 pan.
  4. Using tongs, place equal amounts of meat on the rolls and continue with the sauteed onions and peppers.
  5. Put a slice of provolone cheese over the each of the veggies and top with the other half of the roll. Melt the butter with the garlic powder in the microwave.
  6. Pour the melted butter over the sandwiches and then sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. or until melted and toasted.
