OKC Mother Arrested For Child Neglect In Baby's Death

The mother of a 3-month-old baby girl, who died after allegedly being abused by her father, was arrested on a complaint of Child Neglect.

Police arrested Damishea Martinez on Wednesday. Over the weekend her daughter, Janelle Martinez was rushed to an Oklahoma City hospital with severe head injuries. The baby was then flown to a Tulsa hospital where she later died.

Janelle’s father, 21-year-old Kentrell Thomas was initially arrested on a complaint of Child Neglect. The complaint was amended to First-Degree Murder after the baby died. He remains behind bars.

So far, Damishea has not been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.
