An Oklahoma town is reaching out to help flooding victims in Louisiana.
Bethel Elementary school in Shawnee packed up and sent 483 care packages this week, to students in Baton Rouge. The bags, which contain toiletry items, school supplies and snacks, arrived in the flood zone Thursday.
Hundreds of Louisiana families lost their homes, schools, and all their belongings in catastrophic flooding in August. Students also wrote letters of encouragement.
Kids say they know what it's like to lose everything and to need help, after Shawnee was hit by a tornado in May 20 though 13.
The students also included a self-addressed envelope hoping to hear back from the kids they've reached.
