I'll have to plead guilty to hyperbole in my reporting from Hofstra University leading up to the debate, I bought into calling it the Debate of the Century.

Maybe it was. This century is only 16 years old after all, and this one was moderately juicy compared to the four previous presidential match-ups.

The first 30 minutes comprised of some pretty feisty debate, but frankly I felt like the rest of it devolved into Hillary Clinton getting under Donald Trump's skin and him constantly on the defense.

There were calls from Clinton and moderator Lester Holt for Trump to release his tax returns, claims about construction contractors he allegedly tried to stiff, President Obama's birthplace, and Trump went for the bait each time.

Can you tell me how them arguing over that stuff is going to tell us which one has the best ideas to move our country forward?

If I could give them some advice I'd tell Trump to ignore the personal attacks and in his take charge way say "you can talk about those things, I'm focused on Making America Great Again, and here's how we're going to do it."

Does he have the discipline to do it?

I don't know.

Clinton has the discipline and came across as much more likable than in previous debates, but she seemed too rehearsed to me, I'd advise her to show more passion and fire for the job.

What advise would you give the candidates?

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
