Chickasha Man Allegedly Cuts Man To Go Back To Jail

A Chickasha man was arrested late Tuesday night for allegedly cutting the leg of another man with a box cutter to go back to prison.

The interview with the alleged victim was caught on the body camera of a Chickasha police officer. The victim, whose identity was asked to be kept secret by Chickasha police, was lying in the hospital bed at Grady Memorial Hospital with a severe cut to the back of his leg.

Officers can be seen talking with the man about the incident. At one point an officer took several photos of the cut, which was on the man’s man left calf.

The alleged victim told police he, a woman, and a man named Anthony Perry were sitting on a mattress outside an abandoned home. Perry allegedly pulled out a box cutter and began saying he wanted to go back to prison.

“We were sitting on that bed and he come up and started slashing the bed. Started threatening saying, ‘I'm going to kill both of y'all you ugly b****’,” he told the officers.

Just minutes later, a second body camera video showed police found Perry asleep on the alleged mattress. The corner of the bed appeared to have been hacked into pieces.  When they confronted him about the attack, Perry denied the entire incident.

“You didn't cut him with the knife?” an officer asked.

“No,” Perry replied groggily. 

“No? How'd his leg get cut when he was over here?” the officer said.

“I didn't cut him,” Perry said back

“Did you cut him trying to go back to the jail? So you could go back to prison like you were saying?”

“I didn't cut him,” Perry said sitting up.

Eventually, the officers would explain he was being charged with the attack and placed him in hand cuffs. A Chickasha PD spokesperson said Perry was taken in without incident.

On Thursday, the abandoned home was vacant. Only bits of trash were left behind and there was no mattress in the place shown in the video. It had been placed in a nearby dumpster, folded and bound with a thick metal wire.

According to police, Perry has been in and out of either prison or jail several times.

Perry is currently in the Grady County Jail charged with assault with a deadly weapon, drug possession and several other charges. Officers also found marijuana inside a bag on Perry.
