Blue Bell Ice Cream issued voluntary recall of two ice cream flavors over possible listeria contamination.
The company announced the recall on Twitter, Wednesday evening, and included a link to a press release regarding the products in question: Half gallon cartons of “Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough” and “Cookie Two Step” and pints of “Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough”.
The release reads in part, “Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling select products produced in its Sylacauga, Alabama, plant because they were made with a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third party supplier Aspen Hills, Inc., due to the potential for it to contain Listeria monocytogenes.”
No illnesses have been reported so far.
Consumers who have purchased these items were urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information, consumers with questions may call 1-866-608-3940 Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CST or go to bluebell.com.
