Baked Hash Browns

  • One 15-ounce bag frozen hash browns
  • 2 teaspoons Trader Joe's 21 Spice Salute or your favorite seasoning salt
  • 3 slices bacon, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup olive or canola oil
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 stick Braum'ssalted butter butter
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Squeeze the hash browns to remove any excess moisture. Place the potatoes in a large bowl.
  2. Using an oven safe skillet or cast iron skillet saute the onions and bacon till softened.
  3. Add the onion and bacon mixture to the potatoes.
  4. Toss the potatoes with the beaten egg, seasoning salt and oil. Return the skillet to the stovetop and melt one stick of salted butter.
  5. Add the potatoes to the skillet covering the bottom completely.
  6. Place in the oven and cook for 45 minutes or potatoes are crispy around the edges.
  7. Flip the potatoes onto a skillet and serve while hot.
