Norman police released a sketch of a suspect who entered a woman's home, held her against her will and assaulted her.

According to police, at about 7 p.m. on August 23, officers responded to the report of an assault in the 1700 block of W. Robinson Street. The female victim told police that she left her home unlocked for about five minutes to retrieve her laundry from a nearby facility. However, she returned to find an unknown man armed with a knife hiding in her closet.

The man reportedly held the woman against her will and assaulted her for several minutes before leaving her home.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old white male who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has a light brown or blonde bowl-style haircut and is slightly overweight. He was wearing a yellow t-shirt depicting the video game character “Yoshi” with cargo shorts or pants at the time of the incident.

If you have any information, call Detective Ron Collett at (405)-366-5219. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Norman Crime Stoppers via text message by sending the tip and the agency code “TIP1323” to 274637 (CRIMES), online using the website submission form, or calling (405)-366-STOP.

Police said a tip that leads to a positive identification and arrest could result in a cash reward.
