Saturday night while watching the OU game, I caught a tweet that simply said there'd been some kind of explosion in New York.

It was the weekend, so the information didn't come out in a gush of social media posts like it does so often these days.

But once it did it was obvious the blast in lower Manhattan was a bomb, New York City Mayor DeBlasio said it appeared to be intentional but it was doubtful it was terrorism.

I'm still trying to untangle that statement, and a short time later, he was proven wrong about the terrorism part.

The suspect shot and captured Monday, was a U.S. citizen who came here from Afghanistan as a child and has in the last few years gone back and forth apparently grown to hate this country.

The FBI was aware of him, but one former agency leader said they haven't been given the resources or freedom to track all these guys.

The new mayor of London, visiting our country in New York City this weekend, Sadiq Khan said "It is a reality I'm afraid that London, New York, other major cities around the world have got to be prepared for these sorts of things," he called it "part and parcel" of urban life.

Are you OK with that?

I'm not, and I'm going to be watching to see which of these presidential candidates comes up with a logical and aggressive strategy to eradicate this threat.
