First it was the air, now a metro mom claims to have made another link between sludge and health concerns in her Northeast Oklahoma City neighborhood.

When Paula Yockel's young son got sick, she started looking for answers. She's collecting data and now water.

“There are a lot of families with sick kids,” said Yockel.

Yockel said treated sludge applied to farmland as fertilizer near her far Northeast OKC home is the reason why their sick.

The City applies 80,000 thousand tons of sludge a year.

Weeks ago, Yockel told city council particles in the air at fertilized farmland have ended up inside her home.

She now claims to have made a link with water samples taken in two spots near the OKC/Jones border, including one right outside Jones Middle School.

There's no denying the correlation between the metals against the sludge to the ground water are similar.

Yockel said it’s clear to her that what's used to treat the sludge ends up in ground water. She plans to pay for further tests and to do more expert interviews.

Yockel detailed her new findings to city leaders this week, again urging to stop sludge practices.

In the meantime, she plans to sell her home and 25 acres near east Hefner and Westminster, knowing the value may drop with each discovery
