It's a weekend filled with rivalry matchups across the state.

The vaunted Jenks-Union Backyard Bowl continues Friday night at Chapman Stadium on the University of Tulsa campus. Let's take a look at three games, a little bit closer to the metro.

Class 2A No. 2 Davis (1-0) at 3A No. 5 Sulphur (2-0), 7 p.m.

The battle for Highway 7 will be a throwback game, the type of game with very few throws.

In their respective games last week, the teams combined for two completions on seven attempts. That means the defenses need to step up and be prepared to stop the opponents rush attack.

Leading the way for the Wolves is junior quarterback Briston Summers. Summers ran for 192 yards and three touchdowns against Lone Grove last week. The Wolves gained 354 yards, every single one of them on the ground. Their wishbone attack will present the Sulphur defense with a lot of different looks.

Sulphur's offensive scheme isn't much different. Last Friday against Wynnewood, the Bulldogs gained 171 total yards with only 36 of those yards gained through the air. Senior quarterback Cameron Jones and junior running back Jacob Parks will get most of the looks. Parks also lines up on defense as linebacker so look for him to make a large impact on the game,

Prediction: Davis 28-20

Class 2A No. 7 Millwood (1-0) at 3A No. 8 Douglass (1-0), Saturday, 1 p.m.

The Soul Bowl might be the metro's most notable rivalry. Don't skip halftime.

The Trojans are coming off a 69-8 whooping of Northeast. The Falcons did the same to Star Spencer, winning 64-0.

Douglass' game will run on the legs of senior running back Chris Friday. Friday could very well top 4000 career rushing yards in this game. Junior quarterback Josiah Dunbar will be keyed on by the Falcons defense as he can hurt opponents with both his feet and his arm.

Millwood, coming off a couple of disappointing seasons, will trust junior running back Elijah Johnson with a lot of touches. Cameron Wesson will serve as a counterattack for the Falcons. Both rushers will give the Trojans defense all they can handle.

Prediction: Douglass 35-24

Class 6A-I No. 3 Southmoore (1-0) at 6A-I No. 9 Westmoore (1-0), 7 p.m.

The short history of the SouthWest Showdown has quickly become a premier matchup in 6A football, with Southmoore holding a 5-3 all-time record.

In Week 1, Westmoore extended their Moore War streak to 16 wins, holding off the Lions 51-41. The SaberCats racked up 503 yards of total offense in a 52-13 win over Deer Creek.

SaberCat junior quarterback Casey Thompson is the best quarterback in the state. He's surround inside and out, on both offense and defense, with playmakers. They've got the hogs up front to grind out a drive but they're more than capable of hitting a big play at any moment.

Jaguar junior quarterback Braxton Bohrofen kept his offense in control last week to quell whatever comeback the Lions tried to muster. This week, he'll need to match the Cats big plays with some help from senior running back Mike Hotchkins and junior receiver James Palmer.

Prediction: Southmoore 48-28
