One Arizona man has been arrested after authorities identified remains found on in 2015 along Interstate 40 near Hinton, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported.

Veneranda Flores, 24, of New Mexico, was found April 7, 2015, along I-40 near Hinton, according to the state medical examiner's office. Flores was identified after the state medical examiner's office sent a DNA sample to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

OSBI agents spent last week in New Mexico and Arizona and helped identify a suspect. They were present when police arrested Juan Gonzalez, 40, at his Glendale, Arizona, apartment on Friday, OSBI reported

Flores was reported missing on Dec. 21, 2014 from New Mexico.

A warrant has been issued in Oklahoma against Gonzalez for unlawful disposal of a human body, OSBI said.

Gonzalez, who was a long-haul truck driver at the time of Flores' disappearance, is in Arizona awaiting extradition.
