Despite being double digit underdogs, the Houston Cougars were able to bring it to OU on Saturday and beat the Sooners 33-23 inside of NRG Stadium.

Quarterback Greg Ward Jr. led the Cougars with 321 yards passing and two touchdowns.

OU's defense struggled to contain the Cougars' offense throughout most of the first half, but Brandon Wilson's return for a touchdown on a Austin Seibert missed field goal attempt in the third quarter was the biggest play of the game.

After a solid start to the game, the Oklahoma offense struggled to get much going in the second half. Quarterback Baker Mayfield finished with 323 yards passing and two touchdowns, both to tight end Mark Andrews.

OU will be back in action next Saturday when they host the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks.
