An hours-long standoff in Northeast Oklahoma City came to an end, but not before the suspect exchanged shots with police.

Police say it all started around 10 p.m. Saturday, when US Marshals tried to arrest a murder suspect from Louisiana at a home near Kelley and Wilshire.

Officers say they tried to go into the house around midnight, but the suspect opened fire.

“There were shots fired nobody was hit. The suspect had a weapon and fired at officers that made entry into the house, officers returned fire but no one was hit,” said OKC Police Capt. Arthur Gregory.

Negotiations with the suspect lasted nearly six hours. The standoff ended around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, after the suspect surrendered to officers. He was not injured.
