A suspect wanted for murder turned himself over to police in the News 9 parking lot, Thursday night. Now, both murder suspects are in jail, after the other woman involved turned herself in a few hours later.
It started with a phone call News 9 received from a suspect's uncle, letting us know his nephew, wanted by police for murder, was here in our parking waiting for police. They chose our station, saying it was neutral ground.
Court documents layout the details of Sunday's murder leading to one of the suspects showing up at our station with his uncle.
Investigators believe the death of David Weideman was the result of a setup, masterminded by Tempestt Williams and Michael Webb Jr.
Police say Williams met the victim Saturday night at Lake Hefner and invited her and another woman back to his place. Court papers say Williams suddenly had to leave the victim's house to pick up her sister.
When she left, police say Weideman was met by Webb, who shot him in the chest.
“When I got home from work I turn on the news, like I normally do on Channel 9, and I saw my nephew on the news and he was wanted for murder along with another lady,” said Webb’s uncle, Eugene Moore said.
On Thursday night outside News 9, Eugene Moore causally waited in a visitor parking spot for police to arrive. Inside his car was his nephew, Michael Webb Jr.,
“We talked about turning himself in to get all of this straightened out and he agreed to come with me,” said Moore.
About an hour after Webb's arrest, Williams turned herself in at the county jail. Both now face First-Degree Murder and robbery charges.
“It's about right and wrong. He's my nephew and I love him, I mean, I have children. If you do wrong there's consequences, no matter what the circumstances are,” said Moore.
