A warrant sweep by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics leads to the arrest of several alleged drug dealers. Agents say the people were responsible for bringing in kilos of narcotics into Oklahoma.

Five of the 11 alleged dealers are now in jail, many of them facing several drug trafficking charges.

Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics investigators say these people are responsible for bringing in kilos of heroin or methamphetamine in to Oklahoma, sometimes daily. Agents believe several of them are connected to the source of the drugs, dealers from Mexico.

“These were not small nickel and dime street dealers, we are talking about major sources of both methamphetamine and heroin that was distributed throughout central Oklahoma,” said Mark Woodward, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Court documents lay out surveillance investigators conducted on the suspects, dating back to March.

Through a wiretap, they were able to listen in on conversations, monitor text messages, and determine exact locations of the drug deals. One location was a gas station in Midwest City.

“These people are pretty high up in the organization. Being able to arrange having a kilo or even multiple kilos brought in to Oklahoma,” said Mark Woodward, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Back in June, a felony traffic stop became a critical turning point in the investigation according OBN.

Midwest City Officers pulled over William Smith, one of the 11 suspects, in a possibly stolen vehicle.

Inside the car, a K-9 officer found two-kilos of meth stashed in the floor board.

Agents believe Smith was one of the major dealers bringing in large quantities of illegal drugs, then distributing them to the other ten listed on the warrant.

OBN has tied some of the 11 from this investigation to a prison gang known as the Irish Mob. Investigators are actively working to arrest the outstanding six people.
