San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick insulted a lot of Americans when he sat through the National Anthem before last weekend's game.
He said he was protesting police shootings and racial oppression. I say he needs to be part of the solution instead of stirring the pot even more.
Here's what you had to say:
Janice, watching online in Wichita first, "Great commentary, Kelly. Those like Kaepernick don't have the backbone to stand up and be part of the solution."
Sharon from Edmond, "He would do better to put his million to work in provide things to better educate these people who lost their lives because they got caught breaking the law.."
Sara writes from Hinton, "He's entitled to his opinion. But he's not entitled to disrespect the men and women who fought for his right to do so."
But Kevin says, "I once respected your views but telling Colin he should stand for a flag and a anthem that's full lyrics promote a higher level of racial injustice, is sad."
I don't see that in the lyrics Kevin.
Teresa writes, "Rather than, Hey I make millions of dollars and I could really do something positive I'm just going to sit here and draw attention to myself for nothing. doing absolutely nothing."
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
