Already in hot water over alleged kidnapping and domestic abuse complaints, a Harrah man is also facing a felony charge of cultivating marijuana after his supposed victim tipped police off to the illegal grow operation.

The incident happened at a home in the 19000 block of E. Wilshire Blvd. in Harrah on July 31. Police were called out to the home to investigate a domestic violence situation.

Once on scene officers spoke with the victim, who said her boyfriend, 45-year-old Eddie Sarratt, had struck her repeatedly, hit her with a large thermal cup and threw her to the ground several times. She also told officers that Sarratt would not let her leave the house during the ordeal.

When police spoke with Sarratt he told them that the altercation was only verbal and that he did not strike the victim. The officers noted several marks and bruises on the victim’s body and placed Sarratt under arrest.

With Sarratt cuffed and in the back of a police cruiser, the officers went back to the victim for further information. It was at this point that she told police about a marijuana grow on the east side of the property. When police went to investigate they discovered nine marijuana plants growing, with a sprinkler system and hose connected back to Sarratt’s house.

Sarratt was then taken to the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of Kidnapping, one count of Domestic Assault and Battery, one count of Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation and one count of Unlawful Cultivation of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. All of the charges are felonies.

Sarratt is currently bonded out of jail and is awaiting trial.
