Oklahomans can look forward to a warm Friday evening across the area with a small chance of a few thunderstorms. Those storms will be capable of gusting winds, dangerous lightning and heavy rains. The isolated storms will weaken after sunset as it stays warm overnight.

Temperatures will fall into the upper 70’s by late Friday evening and low 70’s for overnight lows.

This weekend, storm chances continue to slowly decrease but spotty storms are possible both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will start to warm-up as well, with plenty of sunshine and south winds.

Highs over the weekend will be in the low to middle 90’s, feeling like the upper 90’s with the extra humidity. So, make those pool or lake plans but don’t forget to wear that sunscreen! UV index through the weekend will be in the high category.

Looking ahead to next week, the summer heat continues with seasonable highs in the low to middle 90’s. Mostly to partly sunny skies will start the work week before a weak cold front brings in storm chances through mid-week. Unfortunately, this doesn’t look to be a widespread rainfall event or a significant cool down. Have a great Friday evening!
