The ACLU is accusing Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt of deliberately to mislead Oklahoma Voters with the medical marijuana initiative.

It is criticizing the way Pruitt re-wrote the ballot title of State Question 788.

The ACLU claims Pruitt is trying to make it look like Oklahomans are voting to legalize marijuana in general and not just for medical use.

“The Attorney General has all but guaranteed that Oklahomans for Health will have to challenge this in the Supreme Court. This further delays the process and the chances of this ballot initiative in the November ballot,” said Allie Shinn with the ACLU.

Shinn believes, barring a "Hail Mary", State Question 788 will end up on a ballot in 2018.

The AG's office maintains that there are a number of reasons State Question 788 will not be on the November ballot, that have nothing to do with the AG's language. It says the public process of allowing the signatures and ballot title to be challenged won’t be done until after the deadline to have State Question 788 on the November ballot.
