Weeks after Wendell Holland lost his dad, he said the family is still trying to cope. “You have your moments,” he told News 9.

Glen Holland, 85, had been in and out of the hospital for months with heart trouble, and died on Memorial Day.

“It was tough toward the end,” Wendell said.

Almost every day since then, Wendell has been in the 6800 block of Johnnie Terrace in Southeast Oklahoma City trying to take care of business at the home his father owned for 50 plus years. In the process of cleaning the place, he said they put the appliances outside on the back patio.

On the morning of August 8, a neighbor's surveillance camera caught two people taking advantage of the Hollands during this difficult time.

After breaking through the locked fence, and apparently in no rush, video showed the man and woman loading up a washer, a dryer, a stove, and a refrigerator in the back of a red Dodge pickup and driving away.

“That’s pretty tough – taking somebody that’s past away – you know – stealing from them,” he explained.

Now investigators need help identifying the people who preyed on this family in mourning, stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of their father's belongings.

The family had planned to sell those appliances to help pay for bills related to Glen's passing.

Call Crimestoppers with any information at 405-235-7300.
