Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved the state's request for assistance for Tillman County to help with expenses related to flooding and severe storms that began June 11.

The federal funds may be used to help cities, towns, counties and rural electric cooperatives with infrastructure repairs, debris removal, and costs associated with the damages.

Tillman County joins Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Garvin, Grady and Stephens Counties to have received FEMA funding for these floods.

Early indications point to the damage and response costs totalling an estimated $6.8 million.
