One Detained After Police Pursuit Ends Near Edmond

EDMOND, Oklahoma -

One person was detained Monday night after leading troopers on a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 35, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The chase started in Payne County near Perry. Troopers said the car reached speeds of more than 90 mph as it made its way down from near Perry to Edmond. 

The driver exited the highway at E 15th Street and drove south on the service road. 

The pursuit ended near I-35 and Memorial Road when the driver lost control of the car and drove down the side of the hill of the overpass.

The driver was detained and taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
