A couple of Oklahoma teachers are turning the page when it comes to education by creating their own book for their classrooms.

Marty Gallion Newport is a second grade teacher at Oakdale in Edmond. She just released her second book titled "Roxie and Rein: Forever Friends."

Newport says the colorful book is about her dogs and it aims to teach kids that we can be very different, but still be forever friends.

The illustrator is also a teacher. Tracey Brauer spends her days as an enrichment teacher at Westfield Elementary. But she took the time to watercolor paint the illustrations for Newport's latest book.

You can get your copy this Friday at their book signing at the Edmond Public Library between 10 a.m. and noon.
