Authorities say a man suspected of killing his 73-year-old father in McIntosh County was arrested late Friday near Tahlequah.

Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault says Christopher Hathcoat, 38, was captured late Friday by rangers at Sequoyah State Park for burglarizing a chapel in the park.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says he is suspected of shooting, killing his father, Floyd Hathcoat at a McIntosh County home Friday.
The home is a rural area near Henryetta.

OSBI special agent Ben Rosser says it appears a fight or struggle happened Friday before Hathcoat shot and killed his dad and another man who has not yet been identified.

Prison records show Christopher Hathcoat was convicted in Cherokee County in 1999 for robbery and kidnapping.  He was released from prison in 2014.
