MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma -

A school supply drive is underway in Midwest City.

The City of Midwest City is sponsoring a Support Our School supply drive, which takes place on August 4, 5, and 6.

According to City Manager Guy Henson, the supply drive is being sponsored by city employees and is a way to help out elementary schools in the community.

"Our schools have experienced significant cut-backs over the past couple of years and this is a way for the city to reach out to residents and ask for assistance in providing school supplies that will aid our students as well as our teachers," Henson said.

Supply donation drop-off locations include the Midwest City Walmart, located at 9011 N.E. 23rd Street and Office Depot, located at 7071 S.E. 29th Street.

Donation drop-off times include on August 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on August 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
