EMBARK unveiled the design and colors of what will be Oklahoma City’s Streetcar System Wednesday.

The 4.6-mile route will include six streetcars, and it will connect Bricktown to Midtown, the Arts District, and Automobile Alley.

Portland, Oregon-based designer Brian Kerr was in charge with coming up with the color scheme and design for the system, which he says will include Bermuda Green, Clear Blue Sky, and Redbud.

“When you look at other streetcars nearby, Kansas City, Dallas, or Atlanta, and there is a general similarity to that brand, and what we wanted to have was really a bold statement,” he said. 

EMBARK Spokesman Michael Scroggins says Oklahoma City’s $131 million streetcar system will be up and running by August 2018.  It’ being paid for by a MAPS 3 one-cent sales tax OKC voters approved in 2009.
