A Rogers County deputy who successfully donated a kidney to a man he barely knows is recovering in Nashville - as is the man who benefited from the donation. Corporal Paul Tucker donated a kidney to a co-worker's friend Tuesday.

As News On 6 reported last week, Tucker volunteered to help a man he'd only met once.

His co-worker, RCSO Major Coy Jenkins, had a friend from college, Greg Morton, who needed a kidney. Coy was going to donate, but he learned it was medically unsafe.

Paul Tucker stepped up in his place.

When we talked to him at the airport last week, Tucker said part of his job is to serve others, and he was happy to do it. Tucker said that though both he and Morton are in pain, the transplant is successful.
