Hazmat crews were called in to investigate a situation at the Boeing facility in Midwest City, Monday afternoon.
Emergency personnel were called out to the scene in the 6000 block of S. Air Depot Blvd.
According to a spokesperson with the Oklahoma City Fire Department, the building was evacuated after an employee opened a package containing a yellow, gel-like substance. Hazmat crews were then called to investigate the substance.
Employees were allowed to return to work around 2:15 p.m. The substance was later determined to be non-hazardous.
A Boeing representative issued the following statement regarding the situation:
"Boeing’s Oklahoma City facility has been given the all clear. A suspicious package was reported and emergency officials conducted an investigation. In an abundance of caution, employees were evacuated during the investigation. The Oklahoma City Fire Department has cleared the package and employees have returned to work."
