Two People Killed In Plane Crash Near Enid

ENID, Oklahoma -

Vance Air Force Base says two people are dead after a small plane crash east of Enid Thursday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 7 p.m. Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s office are at the scene.

Around 9:35 p.m., the Vance Air Force Base said a civilian and an active duty military member died in the accident. Names of both are being withheld pending next of kin notification.

At this time, there's no word on what caused the crash. An investigation is underway.
