EL RENO, Oklahoma -

Lake El Reno's annual Smoke On The Water drag boat race is still on for this weekend, despite a recent algae outbreak.

City Manager Dan Galloway ordered "no swimming" signs to be posted around the lake about 10 days ago.

He said he also sent water samples to the DEQ.

However, he said when he gets those results back, he expects any toxic levels will be too low to be concerned.

Smoke On The Water co-director Josh Finnigan said he expects 75 drag boats and 4,000 spectators this weekend.

"(I) feel confident, you know, the test results will come back negative ... as a safety precaution," Finnigan said.
