The signs are hot off the printer reading, “We support our police officers and their families.”

Damon King is an investment advisor at ChappelWood Services. His company printed these signs last year and passed out thousands to people in Oklahoma and across the country. In light of the Dallas tragedy, they are printing some more.

“Regardless of their color, we just want them to go home at night to their families,” said King. “Violence is not the answer either way.”

He says the signs are to thank police officers who put their lives on the line every day.

“I hate what is going on. I hate the violence that some police officers have committed across the country, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t support the vast majority of good police officers who keep our neighborhoods safe.”

King says anyone interested in signs can reach out to ChappelWood Financial Services.

Grace Franklin, Executive Director of OKC Artists for Justice, said she wants everyone to be safe. She is an advocate for Black Lives Matter OKC.

“We definitely want to be clear. It is not okay to target, kill police officers who are minding their business, doing their job, living their lives.”

Franklin said the BlackLivesMatterOKC protest on Sunday will honor the fallen soldiers and the black lives that were lost to police violence.

“That is not right,” said Franklin, “That is not right. That is execution just like we are complaining about the executions of black men and women. A tit for tat situation does not help us.”
