OKLAHOMA CITY -

Police arrested a man saying he threatened to kill a baby Wednesday in southwest Oklahoma City.

Police say 38-year-old Rene Alba got into an argument with his girlfriend over a cell phone. The two share a home in the 3400 block of S. Villa Ave.

Officers say when the girlfriend refused to give Alba the phone, he grabbed the girlfriend’s 16-month-old child by the throat and held him up in the air.

Investigators say the girlfriend has several bruises, but the child is OK.

Alba is now in the Oklahoma County Jail.
