Man Caught On Camera While Attempting To Break Into Homes

The search is on for a man suspected in at least two attempted break-ins in nearby neighborhoods.

Now, one of the homeowner's is warning other residents.

Two neighbors reported to police that they saw the same man through their security systems trying to break-in to their homes.

The man looks unsuspecting in the video captured by a small camera on the porch. He rings the doorbell then patiently waits.

After peering through a window, the man tries to make his forceful entry into this home in southwest Oklahoma City. He gives the door several kicks, but it never gave in.

Eleven days later, Sherry Byrns said the same man came to her door, but again never made it inside.

“It was giggling pretty hard. Luckily, I always keep my door locked,” Byrns said.

Startled by the noise at the door, Byrns ran to check her security system and realized she recognized the man on the monitor.

A picture from that video was posted on the mobile app Nextdoor, warning other neighbors of the man who tried to break down their doors. Byrns' husband searched for the post to confirm it was the same man.

“He got on the app and did a search back and found the picture and showed it to me and was like, 'is this him?' And I was like, 'oh my gosh, yeah. That's the same guy,'” said Byrns.

At the Byrns, the security sign in the front yard wasn't enough to spook the man. Now, two homes with the same security system have caught a glimpse of the man.
