A Guthrie man is accused of multiple robberies within minutes of each other, including a place he used to work.

Deputies arrested 18-year-old Waylon Peltier Monday after they said he led them on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.

It was just before 7 a.m. and a cashier at Carl's Jr. took an order for a large water in the drive-thru. When it took a long time for the person to drive up, the cashier is seen on security video looking out the window.

Then, the person pulled up, pointed what the victim said looked like a pistol from under a bag and demanded the victim to open the safe.

“The victim just slammed the window shut and ran back to the freezer and the suspect drove away,” said Guthrie police Sgt. Jeremy Thorne.

The suspect, later identified as Waylon Peltier, apparently worked at the Carl's Jr. before.

Court records show he was accused of taking money from the cash register earlier this year.

Back to his run-ins with authorities Monday. Minutes after the attempted robbery at Carl’s Jr., a man told police he had just been robbed at gunpoint along Highway 105 and saw the suspect turn down a dirt road.

“It was a little too close for comfort,” said Mystia Triplett.

Peltier apparently drove through Triplett's land, tearing down fences and leaving ruts in the yard.

Logan County deputies said he ran off on foot and at some point, went up to another homeowner's door and knocked. When News 9 went to her home Monday, she did not want to reveal her identity.

“He asked if he could use the phone, I said ‘sure.’ I went back and got my phone and got my gun, because I don’t know who this kid is,” she said. “He didn’t make me feel nervous or anything. I kind of felt sorry for the kid. But I didn’t know anything that was going on.”

Logan County deputies weren't far behind and a sheriff's K-9 tracked him. After he was arrested, investigators said he confessed.

Authorities said he was arrested on a complaint of possession of a stolen vehicle among the other crimes and is expected to be formally arraigned as early as Tuesday.
