One Dead In Crash On Interstate 40 Near Mustang

One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 40 near Mustang Road, authorities reported.

The crash happened about 5:45 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40. 

The crash involved two vehicles and a tractor-trailer with the tractor-trailer crashing into the back of one vehicle. 

Two people were in the vehicle that was hit by the tractor-trailer.

One person died at the scene and emergency crews worked to get the second person out of the vehicle. That person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

One person in a third vehicle was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Oklahoma City haz-mat was also at the scene after tractor-trailer began leaking oil onto the roadway.

The state transportation department shut down all eastbound lanes due the crash. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
